the artefacts is my current ongoing project exploring a trans-fantasy history.
inspired by religious iconography, medieval art, comic books, and contemporary painters; i have been slowly developing a world in which transness is magickal through repetitive motifs, characters, and overlapping narratives.
this isn’t so far fetched- historically trans people have been traced back thousands of years but our history has been erased by colonialism, fascism, and capitalism. trans people were once thought to be sacred- i want to bring these associations back.
the crown and the net are sacred, transformative objects. when you hold them your body is changed.
